La Chacruna ( Psychotria viridis )

In the Amazonian worldview, it is the bearer of luminous vision. If Ayahuasca is the teacher who shows the way, Chacruna is the torch that illuminates the landscapes of the spirit.

Spiritual Clarity: It allows the participant to observe their own internal processes, traumas, or blockages with a lucidity that is not possible in the ordinary state of consciousness.

Visual Messages: Unlike other plants that work more on the physical body, Chacruna communicates through sacred geometries, vibrant colors, and spiritual presences, facilitating messages that the soul can understand and remember.

The Sacred Alliance

Chacruna rarely works alone; its power awakens in union with the Ayahuasca vine, the mother.

The Alchemical Union: The fresh leaves of the plant are used. These are usually harvested at dawn, with prayers and offerings. Then, it is layered with the crushed vine in a large pot to be cooked for many hours over the sacred fire.

The Chacruna brings light and clarity. Without the Chacruna, the experience would be profound but dark; with it, the journey is filled with visual revelations.

Chacruna and other master plants

For a master healer or herbalist, the Chacruna is not an ingredient, it is a Sacred Feminine Entity.

The Leaf Diet: Shamans respect this plant through a specific ritual. Before working with it, the apprentice must assist and isolate themselves, allowing the spirit of the Chacruna to "cleanse their spiritual eyes."

Harvesting Ritual: The leaf is not cut without asking permission. The shaman speaks to the plant, offers it tobacco, and explains the purpose of the healing. It is believed that if the plant is not respected, it "hides its light" and does not grant visions to the participant.

Protection of the Lineage: The masters consider the Chacruna to be the guardian of the jungle's memory. Therefore, they treat it with the tenderness of a mother and the firmness of following a guide.

The Respect of Shamans for Medicinal Plants

Known as the plant that "warms the cold," Chiric Sanango works on both a deep physical and emotional level.

Its Medicine: It is a powerful reconstructor of the nervous system and a healer of old wounds. It helps to soften the heart, allowing sensitivity and empathy to flow again.

Physical Level: It is commonly used for bone ailments and to strengthen the will of those who feel weakened by life.

History and Wisdom: Its name comes from the Quechua word Chiric (cold), but ironically, it is known as a "hot" plant. It is said that the spirit of this plant is a demanding teacher who seeks to eliminate the cold not only from the bones but also from the heart. It is the plant that helps to "melt" emotional hearts.

Spiritual: It is used in deep cleansing diets to strengthen the will. It helps people who feel "frozen" or paralyzed by past traumas, restoring their vital warmth and capacity to feel.

Chiric Sanango (Brunfelsia grandiflora): The Master of the Heart

The Mucura is a plant of "defense." Its strong aroma and firm energy make it an indispensable tool for dispelling negativity.

Its Purpose: It is primarily used in flower baths to strengthen the aura and ward off envy or bad luck. It grants mental clarity and a feeling of courage and protection.

History and Wisdom: The Mucura is known as a "protective" plant. Ancient healers say that its strong garlic aroma is its shield against negative energies. It is a plant that grants mental clarity and courage, ideal for those who need to make difficult decisions.

Traditional Uses:

Bloom Baths: Its leaves are essential in cleansing baths to remove bad luck and envy.

Energetic Protection: It is said to "strengthen the body" against spiritual attacks. It helps clear the mind of intrusive thoughts and provides a sense of security and personal sovereignty.

Mucura (Petiveria alliacea): The Warrior's Cleansing

This plant, whose aroma is reminiscent of garlic, is one of the most respected teachers for learning the art of healing.

Its teachings: It fosters self-confidence and sharpens the senses. On a spiritual level, it "cleanses the blood and spirit," preparing the seeker to receive higher visions and greater physical strength.

History and Wisdom: Sacha Garlic is one of the most important initiation plants. Its history is linked to hunting and survival; hunters bathed with its leaves to camouflage their scent and sharpen their senses. Spiritually, it does the same: it sharpens intuition and allows us to move through life with the agility of a tracker.

Traditional Uses:

Initiation Diet: It is one of the first plants an apprentice consumes to "cleanse the blood" and strengthen the immune system.

Clarity and Focus: It is used to purify the mind of confusion. It helps connect with one's life purpose and provides the self-confidence necessary to walk unfamiliar paths.
